The Legend of Xariel

Summary

The Legend of Xariel is a religious tale from the Book of [Heres, depicting a man who wanted too much power.  Xariel was already a skilled hunter, who approached Heres asking for her to bless him with divine hunting abilities. Heres asked Xariel to prove his worth to her, and if he could she would grant him his request. Xariel went and hunted all the animals he could, decimating the animal population in his home. He presented his game to Heres. Heres punished him for his greed, turning him into an immortal white deer, dooming him to be hunted forever.

There are reports of people seeing the white deer that Xariel became over the course of thousands of years.
