Possible new work

The butler doesn't want to make a business deal for the glamor armor. offered all my gold too as down payment, but he clearly didn't learn any good business ideas from his lord.   So we walked to the other lord's manor and love tried to outsmart the guards by running some tongue twisters. It failed and he bought them each a beer even though it's mid morning. This may be useful.   Next we berated some homeless guy for info. There we learned nothing. We ducked away into a alleyway and there, var proved himself to be a shape shifter. Maybe it's a prejudice of mine, but any man who can change his face has no honor. This would have been good to know earlier to now.   From there we learned from a nobleman who was quite presumptuous of our status because of our traveling habit. But he does reveal a bit more about Garth, and Dastrin. Dastrin as an eccentric, and Garth as respectable for personally helping the noble. Wonder if he helps those in all corners of this town, or just the rich humans.   After he leaves, we decide to use Var for his talents, and try to learn about Garth's Man-whore-isms. Love and Var approach the gate in standard form. They promised to want to buy a shop from Garth and make something called an HOA?   Zex and I take this time during their rambling to sneak around to case the joint.   I look back over my shoulder to see at least the guards go off to talk to someone inside about letting them in.   I elect to boost Zex up the wall, it looks pretty well secluded. He told me of the guard that went inside and the one other guard in the garden/ back yard. Now we know what it looks like for later.   Meanwhile we would learn later that Var and Love got an audience to pitch some business opportunity. They will have to come back later.   To kill time, Everyone else decide to go drink. I elect to watch the shops as a time waster. The oddities shop stands out with having more people working it than before, as well as the armorer, have an excess of employees. One man enters the front, but never leaves. On the backside is a normal looking man in this upscale street with a sack.   Unsuccesfully sneaking, I elect to chase him down to try and bribe him. Dastrin sounds like a standard landlord collecting rent. He promises to meet me in the am with some info for Dastrin.   Meanwhile everyone did nothing for hours but eat bread and play around. Var did something at least and added to his tools.   Var went up to talk business with love, meanwhile Fizz checked bounties. This time I do nothing at the bar.   Meanwhile, back at the Mansion. Love and var barely pull off getting a second interview using artificer. They return to talk about how they got a second meeting to potentially make some shady shit in the makes. Looks like he's not all noble. They told the accountant thought they were toy makers.   They want me to sneak at the place where we already are staying. I leave them to drink beer and eat.

Jungle days

We leave the town square to follow a local named "Tsua Shan, " where before we had broken a salt line in experimentation. Here we learn about Unos. Their Bear 'God?'. Mostly we just made fun of Var for being a shit Artificer. Fizz takes seconds of the soup on offer before anyone else can have a bowl and immediately poured it into a bag dousing his belongings in soup. I'm still trying to figure out what the gnomes intentions are before Love decided to get up. He carefully walks over to Fizz and falls over him. Fizz looks around probably for shit to steal and doesn't look interested with anything on display. These people continue to amuse me.   We then learn about the children's fate, being lost in a storm while gathering berries. Sure wouldn't have happened if they were hunting. Dweebs.   Zex and I leave after hearing the lady drone on about berries that glow. I didn't want to hear her ramble so I asked him to look for rats with me. Once outside I motion for us to sneak to the elder. But before I can even get to finish the sentence, Zex snatches up a rat. This man and his rats. It's weird.   Once we sneak to the hut, I overhear the elder talking to guests about the missing children. Nothing we don't already know, but she still seems off to me. Then they change subjects to the festival which will happen at the town square. Zex and I leave before villagers could have spotted us. Rather than head back, we investigate the town. Basically I found bunny meat drying racks. They aren't big game hunters, so they seem to live off of veggies and bunnies. I made sure that Rodney and I are still on the same page via light threatening and decided to return. I messed with another salt line along the way.   I would learn later back at the hut apparently these folks sell berries to sell. Something about the berries grow when wet. Gay. At night they glow as well. Cool, yellow glowing wet berries. What ever, I stopped listening and went to bed.   Before dawn, a massive storm shook us all awake. Lightning bright enough to shine through the walls and gaps in the hut's making. I will give it to them, they know how to make a stick shelter and it didn't collapse. Most everyone went back to bed. I stayed up. This place still seems to feel off to me despite no evidence as of yet. Humans are mysterious with their intentions.   Dawn breaks and we split bread. Fizz takes more than his fair share. Again. I tell him to take my share if it something not meat. In return he will give me a 'guiding hand'. I said, only if I need help. I don't need help. Then we set off if the direction of where the kids were last seen. Soon after walking into the forest jungle it became clear it will be too dark for the human, so I lit a torch, gave it to Varv. I walked on ahead.   Another hour or so of walking and no sign of the kids, we find some of the glowing berries we heard so much about. I don't want to be here for the berries and won't be gathering any. Love walks up to the glow. I supervise via leaning against a tree.   How do these children get around in such darkness? One dropped torch and that's a lost child. Stupid humans.   Love picks some berries , Var eats one sunberry off the bush which makes his mouth glow. Fizz continues to pick berries while Zex and I went ahead. Fizz and love move on to more bushes before it becomes clear that berries aren't the only thing that glows around here. A group of bushes begin to shift and fly off. I think nothing of it, fire-flies are something I hear of down in the south. These bugs seem to be targeting light sources, this becomes obvious by their chasing of light sources. This is funny as Fizz and Love made their armor glow.   Love has Fizz throw fire into a bush to confirm this theory. A magic bear is again summoned. Gods, talk about overkill for some damn fire flies. Var is swarmed by some fire flies that flew right past me, presumably for his torch. Var thinks quick and throws the torch to get away escaping one attempted attack of opportunity and distracting the other. Maybe the human is useful.   After Var runs off very heroically. One of the perusing swarms came over and zapped me! I swiped back before backing up. That fucker got me good that time and hit me 3x as hard. Fucking ouch. Zex killed his rat and then turn to the flying fucks to almost one tap a swarm with his bow via crit. Fizz summoned some vines to trap the bugs, and then another motivational bear. I personally don't feel like swatting bugs so I tried to scare them off. UFO 2 didn't want to leave so I bitch slapped it with the side of my scimitar. This killed the swarm. Var charges into battle to take on the big bad swarm of bugs. Var takes the rest out in a mighty swing of a stick and killed another small swarm. The last swarm never returned.   More glows are in the distance as we finished the fight. Love heals me for 9 of my 10 missing. We rest in the darkness before proceeding further.

Braaverton comes to an end.

We awoke in the mansion, then departed back to town. Along the way my stomach rumbled. The mansion had no food what-so ever, meaning I haven't eaten in 2 days. I took it upon myself to go hunting, but got jumped by an owl bear. One hit, and I went down. Fizz revived me with a spell, and although I hate magic, I won't turn down healz. I got back up, and immediately used my mighty "Daunting Roar" to make the owl bear regret messing with me. Somehow this made me feel stronger, I think I went "Ding."   We continued back to town. Love wanted to seek out the Radish Salesmen to check up on him, as he had been turned to stone when the town was initially attacked. I saw an opportunity and decided to ask this man to follow along. Next stop, the mayor. The mayor seemed not too surprised when I told him what we had found in the Forrest, or even that his friend was to blame. He brushed off my warning off, so I then used the radish salesmen to further my point. If the mayor is to keep this kind of dangerous and new magic around, there must be accountability. I forced him to agree to a blood oath to ensure if this ever happens again, I can kill him or whomever occupies his office. AND Nicklecraft as well. He agreed.   He seemed to want to be on our good side afterward, and allowed us to buy at any of his shops for a discount. Paid us. We can also buy land here, or open shops. Zex and I seized this opportunity to go down to the markets. He was able to purchase for a great deal for very little after taking a loan out from Fizz. I sold my hammer in favor of a scimitar, it seems to swing a bit more true. Everyone else seems to scatter and check the other shops before we got a bite to eat.   At the tavern I brought up how there is more yet we could do if we wanted to pursue turning in this bounty I have. Everyone shockingly agreed and we proceeded down to the stables. This is when Love showed even more financial stupidity and bought us all Horses rather than pay the 2 gold for a river guide. I unfortunately had to share a horse with the smelly small human. He seems of no harm, rare enough for a human.   Two days of travel later and we proceeded south to my bounty in a town named Angor- followers of Unos the Bear Provider. Salt lined the rooms and windows. Fizz took this as an opportunity to summon a bear spirit and see what the people would do. Seemingly nothing? These people perplex me but so far nothing to say they are necessarily bad people. Nevertheless, they agreed to pay the full 500GP even though I provided a head for a bounty that was posted for 'alive'. Provided we do some work for them of course. I do want to buy my own horse, so I agreed, and the party seems to like the idea of more money too, so I won't disappoint.

Thumping in the Forest

We began, perhaps too cautiously to the tower. After some failed rock throwing checks, and nothing happening. We proceeded up the tower where I tied him up in an upright standing position. Careful not to pull this corrupted being out of this magic tower which had dark magic pulsing from the tendrils spewing out from this crystal. I went to watch from a safe distance. Dark magic doesn't belong on this world. Between our shit artificer and mage, they were able to find a way to free the man and the crystal from the grasp of the dark magic. This lead to a small pack of animals coming out from the forest to come try to kill us I presume.   A short fight later, where I once again showed these imbeciles how to fight. Having killed most of the baddies stalking the forest (again) I threw one of the dead to the feet of Zex, to show him a target he might hit. When the dust settled I was able to interrigate the still tied up arcane user. He feigned negligence but if that's the case then he might be the biggest fool of all. He left no safeguards to prevent such a thing while he was messing with magic deep in the woods with NO OVERSIGHT. Fool. He might have the rest of the party fooled but I will keep a close eye on him. All this from a cracked gem and a complete lack of forethought. It seems these humans produce goods faster than they learn wisdom. A dangerous mix for how short their lives are. Var convinced me to let him go but he will stand trial back in town, mark my words.   Also it seems the rabbit lover has learned the value of gold. Someone must have educated him. I had to actually share gold evenly despite how love revived a panther with my dagger still inside it. He owes me a new throwing knife.

Artificer's mansion (Cont.)

By the Gods, this group of adventurers might not be completely useless! As soon as we went toward the sound of the rhythmic thumping in the woods, I decided to go on a little hunt. Well, the bunny worshiper tried to scare my game off, but maybe it's a good thing! It turns out it was corrupted. Upon sounds of battle emerging, more corrupted beasts came from the woods. In total, 2 boar, 1 swarm of bats, 3 badgers, and one bear came to meet their doom. I ended up cleansing this world of one bear, one boar, and 2 badgers. I do admit, the sneak pulled through and made quite the kill. He was able to skewer 4 bats on one arrow! So, I decided to have them as a nice shishkibob. Not the best, and unexpectedly spicy. That might have been the corruption.   We took an hour to patch ourselves up before finding the source of the thumping as a small tower. Corruption was growing was also growing from there. looks like we have more work to do.

Day 2- Artificer's Mansion

Battle begins shortly after we enter the woods. After we took too long to put out a torch, three wolves, and a giant spider approach. The wolves don't look like they want behind-the-ear-scratches. Fizz popped a smoke when the wolves started running at us. This allowed me to hit wolf two with a throwing knife, I called out that he's one shot. Too bad Zex can't hit his shots. Loviathan took a nibble and forgot to spam "x" so he's one shot. Fizz was cracked and one tapped the spider with lightning chaos bolt. Loveiathan took another hit and got knocked. I whack-a-moled that same wolf I cracked earlier and he took a nap. Zex can't hit any of his shots. Var also got knocked, it's not looking great. Fizz seems to prove himself in battle again and again, went in for the execution on the remaining wolf outside the smoke. I came in and cleaned up the kill. a wolf came up behind and tried to bite me. Fizz came around and hit it, again, I finished it off.   We took a break following the encounter. The dead were buried and blessings were made.   We kept on and found 2 gargoyles guarding a path, and just as we were about to poke the eyes to see if it's alive, Var sees a trap. Well, then the genius fails to defuse the bomb. Takes some damage via arrows. Var eats shit again. Gets healed from Loviathan, and then fails yet again.   We try an elaborate way to sneak up to the door before doing several investigations before just going to open the door. Love set off a pressure plate in order to hug a gargoyle. I showed Val how to dodge an arrow. Val learned how to activate a pressure plates, and how to get penetrated by arrows. This is worth 20xp for him.   Then we start looking around the place. Seems nothing worth protecting it appears. Fizz got some vibes which lead us to an artificer workshop. Var took some blueprints and a book for beginners after finding out he dumb. Fizz found some magic gems, which must be valuable! Var then went on rambling about the significance of these stones. Lots of blueprints and things were found with 3 magic gems.

Day 1 Braaverton

After getting through a small journey from the south, I find myself returning to the south!   I found myself in an inn and shortly there after I got 50 copper just for showing my bounty off to some weird hippy dwarf. Funny guy.   Then a strange and corrupted cockatrice showed up, turned a Radish cart owner into stone. I did some good damage to him before some others joined! One is a druid lady by name of Fizz, one is a hill dwarf (Hippy) by name of Loviathan, one is a human dude who throws radishes by name of Varnem, one who can't seem to hit any of his arrows who was traveling with the female druid, me thinks he's a Bugbear Lapine by name of Zex. Funnily enough, the hippy hill dwarf the size of a small hippo, dealt a killing blow before bringing him back to life in horror. lol.   These guys seem alright, though the druid talks perhaps too much. The archer seems to understand the true way of nature, not a p***y like the dwarf. Though he does have some interesting ideas about justice and the way. Excited to talk to him too.   After the fight (I dealt the killing blow via slitting its throat and releasing it's soul. Ah, the old ways), I got my throwing knife back, learned there might be someone who can help with the corruptions down south by way of which I just came. I Got free dinner in this little town of Braaverton, and free room with my new friends. Also got 7 feathers. I was told the Cart owner will come back after 24 hours. The info was rather useless honestly, they have sent no scouts, and talked way too much vs how much they knew. There is a bounty to find the artificer who may be able to help with finding the source of the corruptions. Plus the strange human dude who seems trustworthy seems very excited.   So in the morning, I will head out with the new crew, and see if I can find the mansion of this artificer who may know something. At the very least, it will be nice to get the reward (600gp)

Day 0
day 0

Braverton awaits...   I return to the small pit stop excuse of a town in order to return a bounty. Things went south when going to collect him, and long term short I have to see just how bad they wanted this bounty alive. Gods know I need the gold. (25! For some simple corrupt runaway city guard!). The city lies just down in the valley from my camp, I will reach them no later than noon tomorrow. Just enough time to collect the bounty and get a room and a full belly of cold mead and warm food.   If it's any consolation, I did interrogate him before he left this plane.
