The Moons of Byrn

There are 5 moons surrounding the World of Byrn. As with many other celestial bodies, the beings living beneath each moon know their respective moon has much power and celebrations are dedicated to its cycles and the changes they bring throughout the year.   The white Moon, Zuma, is the 1st at the top of the world and graces the skies of many a tremendous species, crossing over the Northern Isles of Linsenerins and the shores of Badalgeria to the city of Srurd in Durzce and beyond.   The 2nd Moon to cross Byrn's skies is Amhurzt, named as such by the Goblin races of the Unnamed Lands. It sails over Kurgut, Urdzrad. It shifts much of the oceans under it, almost completely covering the island off the Eastern edge of Tsa for parts of the day. It shines a deep maroon in the night sky.   The 3rd Moon, is known as Smith, and though it crosses many lands, it is best known in the west. Named after the first human man to cross through the Portal beneath it, John Smith, it fills the night skies over the Human Lands of Vortec. This moon is purple and has little pull over the lands beneath it as it lies furthest from the world below..   The 4th Moon, Holeyoak, trails the skies over the center of the world. The waters under this moon are greatly affected by the tides as this moon hovers closest to Byrn, even the great lakes are tidal! Many familiarly call this the 'blue moon' because of its distinct azure color in the night sky.   The 5th Moon called Hamp, bathes many territories in the world in golden yellow light. It passes over the lower part of the world, from the western reaches of Gelond all the way to the eastern edge of Tsa and beyond.   Many have forgotten the traditions and old ways of the moons, but they hold sway over us all!
