Dawnkeep

Demographics

Fugitives, refugees, and others looking for sanctuary feeling they have nowhere to turn can find themselves encountering Dawnkeep, and being invited in.

Government

Yvette and her coven daughters Constance and Gwendolyn found and occupied Dawnkeep, and use it to wander the world quietly within the Border Ethereal. They have learned secrets to have some influence over it, and serve as the guides of any who find refuge within it.

Infrastructure

Despite its size, few actually live and work in Dawnkeep, leaving many places abandoned yet mostly pristine. It is an eerie place to visit due to the lack of activity inside the markets and wide avenues within. There are permenant teleportation circles that link locations, as well as magical lifts that serve as connectors to different sections.

Districts

Dawnkeep itself exists in the two arms, torso, and head of Keeper, the automaton that moves through the Border Ethereal.
  • Head of the Keeper - Home to Yvette's Tower and the skyship port. It is there that any spelljammer ships can dock and set off from the Keeper.
  • Torso of the Keeper - Home to the shared spaces between the arms, marketplaces, workshops, and the like.
  • Right Arm of the Keeper - Home to Constance's Tower and residences.
  • Left Arm of the Keeper - Home to Gwendolyn's Tower and further residences.

History

Dawnkeep is exists within a massive automaton that Yvette and her daughters refer to as Keeper. The origins of Keeper is a mystery, and if Yvette knows of it, she does not share it. Best anyone can surmise it was crafted during the Age of Myth, long before the Mists. It was wandering aimlessly before Yvette discovered it while on the Border Ethereal, and started uncovering ways to influence it.
