Incursions

While the true nature of Cabochon is unknown to most, it's history of extraplanar incursions riddles much of the its history. Stories of infernal patrons, ruthless demons, sanctimonious angels, warring deities, and much more aliens beings pervade not only many religious texts but may also spawn their own cults. Rumors from the Northern Wylds suggest that the Bone Men that live atop Old Hermit are led by a primordial, extraplanar vampire. Bizarre tales, such as Isegrym being built in six weeks by lizards and rats that climbed up from the sea or that the sun and moon are two different eyes of a large beast roaming the sky, are celebrated as historical fact.     Those that enter Cabochon rarely speak of their homeland or view of cosmology. Historically, a series of extraplanar invasions happened in an era known as 'Elemental Evil'. Newer races flooded into the world along with crazed aberrations and elementals. Recent incursions of note have included githyanki shore parties, Illithid refugees, and devious yugoloth shapeshifters.
