The Punicea, known for classification as Caryopteris Punicea, is an extremely rare plant found in caves and dark places. It has a great many uses but it is both extremely rare and hard to grow for commercial purposes.
Properties
Material Characteristics
Punicea grows up to one foot tall in a small bush. It has thick, rosette-shaped leaves, which are usually dark green, and the plant usually grows in small clusters. It also grows small flowers, which can be dark red, light pink and dark gold.
Compounds
The flower petals can be glazed in sugar and then left to dry to make Punicea tea, a flavourful tea that has a hint of sweetness although a lot of care should be taken to avoid cross-contamination with the nectar and the leaves/stem which are poisonous.
As mentioned above, the nectar is a mild poison. On its own, it will cause severe stomach cramps and vomiting. It can be used as a reagent to create more powerful poisons. The leaves and stem, when crushed, will release Punicea oil, a deadly narcotic agent on its own. It can be used to create powerful poisons and medicines.
Geology & Geography
Punicea can be found in caves and other dark places. It is believed it requires a natural source of magic nearby to truly flourish, which is why it is so hard to cultivate for commercial purposes. It grows well within the cave systems beneath
