Candlekeep Coinage

Candlekeep has its own coinage that can be used throughout the The Sword Coast region. Players should keep in mind that it won't always be accepted for full or any value in further locations.

Codex - Platinum

A large coin embossed with an open book. The book has a hexagonal slot in the front and back so they can stack with other Codices.

Solar - Gold

A hexagonal golden coin with 12 rays of the sun shining from the center. The center of the sun is embossed on one side.

Crescents - Electrum

A moon shaped coin made from electrum. Just one of these fit snugly into the center of a Solar.

Scrolls - Silver

A silver scroll with the written words of Oghma enscribed on it: "Before anything can exist, the idea must exist."

Quills - Copper

A small copper coin with a quill engraved on it.

Note: The same ratios of coins apply here. 10 Copper = 1 Silver, as does 10 Quill = 1 Scroll. 10 Silver = 1 Gold, as does 10 Scroll = 1 Solar 2 Electrum = 1 Gold, as does 2 Crescent = 1 Solar. (also, 5 Silver = 1 Electrum, as does 5 Scroll = 1 Crescent) 10 Gold = 1 Platinum, as does 10 Solar = 1 Codex.
