Plumeria

Plumeria (a.k.a. Meria)

Plumeria, prefers to be called Meria, was born and raised in the dense forest on the side of the mountains. Her father (black hair/gray eyes) was botanist and apothecary who left his life in the village, profession, and name, to live in the forest when he caught the eye of the fair beauty druid, (brown hair/copper eyes). Years later, Meria was born. At a young age, Meria is fascinated, obsessed with botany and horticulture. She also studies pharmacy from her father (study notes). She can’t stop but pick flowers and study them if she sees flowers. The first flower she picked is the yellow Yarrow (sprig). Like her mother, Meria practiced being a Druid and commune with nature. Though her first experience (age 10) to communicate with a lynx failed, resulting in the scar on her forearm, Meria never gave up on her path to be a Druid. Meria is very curious, maybe too much for her own good. (Age 9) Meria explores alone up the mountains, for more flowers to discover, when she accidently slipped on the rocky ground and tumbled. Luckily, she survived with a few minor scraps, and only one major slice across her palm when she grabbed a rock when she fell. Sadly, she lost all her flowers. Her parents scolded her for exploring on her own at a young age. Meria was not isolated from the outside world. There were times her parents would take Meria to the village to delivery some remedies to shops. There Meria is in awe of everything, and she picked up the habit to take loose trinkets and coins she found lying around. Sometimes she got caught, but sometimes she didn’t. She didn’t care either way. At age 18, Meria received the traditional Druid torque tattoo around her collar bone. Since then, she has been running around the forest, sitting high in the trees, communicating with animals, picking flowers, sometimes sneak her way to the village to take some trinkets, and helping her parents make concoctions and remedies to sell. Meria have reached her 20th birthday. It is time for her to take on the Druid Pilgrimage. To be a true Druid Meria must complete the task to transform into various animals; one from the sky, the water, the land, and the darkness. Meria wonders what else was out there beside the forest, the mountains, and the village. There must be different flowers to be discovered. Different animals to observe and commune with. Different trees to climb. Different tundra to explore. Meria is curious of everything and wants to see everything, no matter the danger she gets in. She is determined to bring her discoveries and flowers back to her tribe and parents once she is satisfied her curiosity.
