History
Formed during a period of relative peace, the Luminaire League aimed to create a prosperous economic bloc encompassing a diverse range of nations. By fostering trade, establishing common standards, and promoting collaboration, the League aimed to elevate the collective economic power of its members.
The initial years were marked by significant success. Trade flourished, communication channels improved, and economic stability increased for many member states. The League facilitated the exchange of knowledge and resources, leading to advancements in agriculture, manufacturing, and infrastructure development.
However, tensions began to rise as the power dynamic shifted. Disagreements arose over trade policies that favored certain nations, and accusations of manipulation and exploitation surfaced.
The outbreak of the Third World War shattered the fragile unity of the League. Member states became increasingly focused on self-preservation and military spending, diverting resources away from collaborative economic ventures.
The Luminaire League continued in a weakened state for a period after the war, but internal divisions and a lack of trust ultimately led to its disbandment sometime between the Third and Fourth World Wars.
Disbandment
The exact date of the Luminaire League's disbandment is lost to history. However, several factors likely contributed to its demise:
The Devastation of War: The Third World War heavily impacted economies across Caelum Prime. Rebuilding efforts and the lingering effects of the conflict took precedence over international economic cooperation.
Shifting Priorities: With the rise of new military powers and the ever-present threat of future wars, member states prioritized national security and resource stockpiling over open trade and economic interdependence.
Loss of Trust: Accusations of manipulation and a lack of faith in the League's ability to ensure fair trade for all member states eroded cooperation and goodwill.
