The most common method of appointment is through a public challenge. Any ogre who believes they possess the strength and leadership qualities to be Chief can challenge the current leader to a duel. The winner of the duel claims the mantle of Chieftain. Rarity:
When a princess is hunted, if she makes it to the port on the side of the island or she makes it sun rise withoug getting captured, then she can choose one of the clans to rule. This has only happen once.
