Personal history
Rufina was never considering a very feminine child. She definitely leaned more towards the tomboy side of things. And she was okay with that even if her mother wasn't. Her father was in the Army and would take Rufina out on hunts with him when he wasn't working.
She looked up to him and aspired to be just like him. So, the first chance she got she joined the military and worked her way up the ranks. Her hard work paid off when she was selected to lead the Military team for the Ripper Star. She had first hand say in who was selected to be a part of her team.
Once on Nisa she had her hands full with a few people who had fooled the checks back home and led her men against the Shadow Star Bloom. She and Alina Rexwood have become unseparable. The two raising Alina's twins and keeping Mordecai Rexwood's memory alive.
