Session 102: Shrieks & Spawn
"Bad book, but I liked the ending"
General Summary
Jinn continued to explore the area while the remainder of the party recuperated from their encounter with the Faceless. As he investigated the voice continued to make inquiries as to his intentions. In one of the side rooms the rogue discovered well-appointed living chambers. A large painting--presumably of the Ushers--dominated one wall. The space contained finely crafted furniture, and chests filled with exquisite apparel and jewelry. Deciding that it was as good a place as any to lay low, Jinn made himself at home and settled in for the evening.
After a night's rest, the party felt prepared to face whatever awaited further in the complex. The voice Jinn heard struck up another conversation with the party, revealing itself as the Words of the Emissary. In exchange for arcane knowledge, it would answer questions and provide the group with assistance. Not having anything to immediately offer, Micah nearly bargained away the location of Iriswood University. However, before he could do so Sir Bartleby leapt into action and smote the tome. This set the lumbering flesh creatures into a frenzy, forcing the party to fight for their lives.
With the final blow landed and the Words of the Emissary defeated, Micah and Bart quickly set about destroying the small clutch of dragon's eggs they'd uncovered. Once again bruised, battered, and broken, the group retired to Velia's room to restore some of their strength before pressing onward.
