Session 109: Turtles & Towers

General Summary

The party headed to Sasarke to find a former cleric of Ioun, Filven Luckbell.  According to Mentess, the priest of Ioun whom they'd been working with in Mas'Uld, Filven would know more about soul-binding and related magic.  In the city they asked around about the wizard.  He apparently lived outside their borders in a secluded tower in the Raingardens.   Trees and plants grew impossibly large in the jungles of southern Khard; signs of megafauna were even more worrisome.  During their trek Bart spotted a small faerie dragon.  The creature introduced itself as Tiru  and agreed to accompany the knight back to Mas'Uld to become Mani's familiar.  Not all the creatures of the forest were friendly, however.   The Dragon Punchers came across chimeras while searching for the wizard.  During their attempt to secure some chimera wool they disturbed an enormous snapping turtle, which only added to the chaos of the scene.  The group emerged triumphant with their prize and were greeted by a small, haughty gnome who explained that the chimeras had been blocking his path back to his home.  This particularly unpleasant individual was none other than Filven Luckbell himself.
