Session 112: Trees & Talks
"It's weird not being alone"
General Summary
Bart and Jinn, after consuming many, many drugs, began to explore the inner workings of Jinn's psyche in order to unlock any potential memories about Jaskaran. The prince's mindscape was a familiar Khardish backdrop. There, the paladin gently pushed his friend to face the truth. Jinn's lies and self-loathing had coalesced into an Angel of Torment. With the help of Bart and Marley, Jinn was able to face and exorcise his inner demon.
Free of its influence, Ivellios could help the prince unlock the truth of what transpired while under the influence of the dragon. Jinn was an assassin. That much everyone was aware. While in Jaskaran's employ, the dragon used the rogue to take out citizens throughout Mas'Uld to further his nefarious agenda. Any argument resulted in Jinn's memories being wiped. With the truth out in the open, Jinn had access to the memories previously forgotten, more information about the foe they faced, and another reason to hate the Ushers of Seudihr.
After meeting with the king and queen to discuss their concerns regarding Jaskaran's potential threat to Mas'Uld, the Dragon Punchers left the city. The grove containing the heartwood for Chari's ritual lay north of Tjetathis. With any luck, they would be able to collect this component and disrupt Jaskaran's plans in one fell swoop.
Devastation met the party upon their arrival at Selune's Grove. The dragon had beat them there. The grove had been destroyed and the heartwood taken. The Rohalath, a secretive druid grove of fire-tamers, met the group with suspicion. The Dragon Punchers explained the situation and headed out for Tjetathis to try to intercept the stolen heartwood.
