Session 164: Hearts & Harpies

"They're pretty. I picked them out of a thing that tried to eat us"

General Summary

Jinn, Chari, and Bart returned to a horrifying sight.  During the night Micah and Fury's Hellsquad had been massacred in battle where they'd been camping.  Or so it seemed.  In truth, the scene was a well-intentioned, if misguided, illusion set up by Ka'rash Dorn to keep any enemies off their trail.  After the adrenaline had subsided and the yelling was over, Bart and Jinn had a stern conversation with the young bard about his choices.
With that particular traumatizing, teachable moment over with, the Dragon Punchers and Fury's Hellsquad continued their way north from the meadery through the Spellcobble Wastes. During the trek the group was waylaid briefly by a flock of harpies. Bart's singing skills, however, soothed the creatures and allowed the party to escape relatively unscathed.
Along the way, Ikki Rheashorra spotted a stand of candle trees and suggested that the group rest there for the evening. The candle trees kept the surrounding area pleasant relative to the frigid, snowy temperatures outside. The ranger brewed a batch of tea with some of the bark to help warm them all up. During the evening Chari and Al’ethera snuck out of camp together to talk.
One thing led to another and the two, in an act of defiance against the gods, ended up mooning the Eye of the Moon, a pool which reflected a full moon every night.
