Session 180: Purge & Pursuit

General Summary

The Dragon Punchers overheard the final remnants of a sending between one of Messeneth's undead minions as they emerged from the Dawnforge.  Concerned more with returning to the floating manor than engaging in battle, the skull lord fled into the city.  Unwilling to allow the creature to escape, Bart mounted Marley and kept tabs on the creature from the sky while Jinn dashed through the streets.    Meanwhile, Micah, Chari, Emlyn, Adriano and Lise were left to manage the remaining shadow minions at the Dawnforge's entrance.  Their enemy fought bitterly and, in an already weakened state, managed to fell Emlyn.  Calling upon the powers gifted to her by Avandra , Chari revived Speaker Varg before her death became more permanent.    Bart and Jinn caught up with their quarry as it took to the sky atop a fangine. With some quick thinking and lucky spellwork, the pair managed to stop the messenger before it could return to the Gentle One's lair.  With their opponent dispatched, they regrouped with the rest of the Dragon Punchers and returned to the farmhouse-turned-operations base.   The evening was spent nervously awaiting Mani and the Hellsquad team who had ventured back into the city.   Upon their return, the commanders and Dragon Punchers held a final tactical meeting.  Mani Mara'hid would stay with Fury's Hellsquad and support their allies on the battlefield.  Emlyn Varg, however, surprised everyone with her insistence on accompanying the Dragon Punchers in their final push.  When all had been decided, the group retired for the evening with those they held dear.   Tomorrow morning would decide the fate of the world.
