Session 186: Feud & Finale

"What is death, but the longest death of all?"

General Summary

Chari's distraction was just the break the Dragon Punchers needed.  While Messeneth attempted to dislodge the yeth hound the rest of the party continued to recover and dispatch the remaining gate keys.  After some struggle, Chari was forced to revert back to her true form.  Exhausted and nearly spent, the group threw all that they had against the monster before them.  Chari landed the final blow, felling Messeneth once and for all.  The final burst of necrotic energy sent her sprawling and her body fell to the ground.  Bart rushed to her side and invoked Lliira's divine favor to bring his companion back to life.
In the wake of Messeneth's defeat the Dragon Punchers returned to Ilester after a brief respite at Emlyn's family home in the astral plane. There, they reunited with companions and loved ones, and helped to route the last of the Gentle One's minions.  Bart formally tendered his resignation to Knight Commander Jarek, relinquishing his role as the Knight of Cups.
