Session 98: Castles & Confrontation

General Summary

Convinced they'd find secrets in the catacombs beneath Stanimir Keep, the Dragon Punchers and their new companion began to plumb the depths.  Not long into their exploration they felt the walls begin to quake and a terrible noise coming from above them.  The group rushed out to a sight they could barely fathom: the castle was on the move.   With each booming step of the keep, homes were destroyed and shops demolished.  Inside, they could hear the screams of castle staff as furniture and art pieces were tossed about.  Velia stood atop the construct calling out the Dragon Punchers to come and face her.  While the party would have liked nothing more than to engage the Ushers of Seudihr directly, they knew that stopping the castle must be top priority to save Merchevan lives.   Micah sprang into action and began systematically destroying the now-glowing runes of animation, runes that suspiciously resembled those they'd encountered on the farms outside the city.  Bart rallied the people of the city to fight.  Jinn, after a stealthy attack upon Velia, attempted to mitigate further damage to Merchevo.   Forced back into her dragon form, Velia made to flee the scene.  The Dragon Punchers, however, had other plans.
