Anvilite
Anvilite, A rare metal, hard as diamond. When purification is completed, the dark, reflecting metal is normally forged into objects like a ring, a rather large amulet on a gold chain, a monocle, belt buckles and a number of 1 to 3 mm spheres (depending on the wishes or descriptions from the customer).
Used by Witch Hunters to block the witches magical force, or collect the witches force for a short time. (several minutes)
One of the most famous Witch Hunters must have been Lord Ditrimizz Haldorandis who was know for his ingenuity. The well known Alchemist Jannaet Roodhaar designed and created his signature weapon, the 'Colt Libarex' with 12 bullets, a quick reload mechanism and a revolutionary barrel design, all based on the 'Colt Liberator' a 7 shooter. The revolver is made of the purest anvilite, mixed with a secret recepy to make it a very expensive and unique weapon. The handgrip is made of black omnilor. knownfor a better grip and anti-slip quality. Technically more durable and efficient then ivory or wood.
Properties
Material Characteristics
before it is melted, its brittle and can be coverted into dust. It can be melted at a minimum of 900 Kelvin. The higher the temperature is set the first time, the higher the needed temperature will become for a second time. The formula is like this:
After the first form the metal can be molten again, but the amount of energy needed is twice the one needed the first time, and the melting point is doubled. This double factor is every time. Depending on the melting temperature it will gain different properties.
Physical & Chemical Properties
base: dust particles.
first form: metal
second form: see through
third form: light emitting (radiation)
fourth form: total light absobtion
fifth form: unknown
Compounds
depending on number of times melted it has different compounds.
Geology & Geography
rare, found in russia
History & Usage
History
Anvilite is one of the rarest metals on earth, hard to obtain and very hard to use. Larger quantities can be found in a dig site in the eastern Siberian Taiga. It is disgarded by the human digegrs as worthless material and collected by Alchemists who value it highly. Alchemists spend many years in perfecting the quality and adding ingredients to change the metal into gold. changing it into gold has never been done.
Discovery
The origin of the metal can be traced back to the time of the pharao's of Egypt. It might be older, but there is no proof. Some of the artifacts are made of the same material and have a dull shine.
Everyday use
The use is to make tiny object that actually absorb certain magical effect. There are some protective elements as well. (it protects against magic, it is harmfull to certain magical creatures (like demons, hellspawn and constructs)
Cultural Significance and Usage
It is used by witches for magic storing capacity and by witchhunters for magic blocking capabilities. (its blocking by absorbing)
Industrial Use
it can be used as any metal, but the quantities are very small. so indutrial use is not viable.
Refinement
The rocks need to be pulverised, and the dust needs to be heated and melted. It has a melting point of 1200 Kelvin and needs to melted to remove impuritys. The purification takes several days and during the melting and purifying an Alchemist needs to add some other -secret- elements.
Manufacturing & Products
Metal can be created, with the right temperature and right ingredients it can be made transparent
Distribution
Trade & Market
alchemists are as far as we know the only ones who can use it, for them its a valuable resources.
