Barbara Graves
Nonpareil Barbara Jean Graves
Ushered in rapidly to position following the apparent suicide of her predecessor, Barbara Graves was forced into an immediate scandal as the publications of The Works Of Airtam Morenthall were circulating throughout the Empire and causing a significant stir. While her efforts to find and stop the efforts of The Burnt Crows to defame the Empire were more than adequate, Sovereign Margaret Effron's decision to have the papers vetted and released to public following the fact checking of a third party group of non associated individuals was partially her idea, advising the Sovereign to allow the verified truth to come out in a way that would put them ahead of any damage and show a willingness to do what was best for the Empire and further weed out any standing corruption. It was from this platform that she maintained her hold upon the Bureau during her lengthy term of office, and it was due to this and her perceived strength of character that she was able to revitalize the institution and repair their public standing. Her standards of operation set a precedent for the agency that placed them into a position of respect and appreciation once more, and went to great lengths to repair the Becht standing abroad as well.
