Black Rain
The storms that blow across the mainland from within the Void are dangerous and extreme. The rains themselves comprised of Void tainted moisture, turned black with the stain of the Blighted energy and carrying a corrosive element from it. While the effects of structures are damaging over time, regular maintenance can avoid anything long term or catastrophic, however, against organic material, the effects can tend to be much more dramatic, often leading to severe injury, death, or infection.
Manifestation
The constant overcast skied that blot out the sun for the majority of the world are no strange sight for those that live on in the post Blight world, and the natives of Cairne have grown quite adept at watching for signs of storms in the skies above.
These storms manifest as a churning of the clouds and a bitter smell on the wind that is precursory to the fall of tainted water from them. The initial precipitation quickly causes a steam-like mist with a dark tint to rise up where it lands causing a fog of darkness that covers the ground and can become increasingly more and more dense and hard to see and navigate through.
Localization
The storms are more frequent around the fringes of the Void, and within the Void itself rages a number of constant and terrible mega storms that are impossible to track and devastatingly powerful. In the Eastern Wastes, along the Ephemeral Sea, and the Blighted Lands the storms are fairly frequent, and still very dangerous, and the lands beyond must remain ever vigilant for the occasional drifting storm that breaks free to spread damage and corruption in its wake until the more natural forces of Cairne can disperse the interloping system.
