Eclipsing Shadows Phenomenon

Periodic celestial events occur, where the remnants of the dimension from which the Void was pulled from to briefly align with the world, casting eerie shadows and amplifying the influence of void energy. During these times, aberrations become more aggressive, and the land becomes even more desolate. The Eclipsing Shadows phenomenon is scientifically referred to as "Dimensional Umbra Confluence". This name reflects the merging of dimensional remnants and the casting of shadows, emphasizing the convergence of energies that occurs during this rare celestial event.   The Dimensional Umbra Confluence has a significant impact on the local environment, temporarily amplifying the influence of void energy. Mutated creatures become more aggressive, and the negative energy permeates the air, affecting the mental well-being of those exposed. The shadows cast during the DUC are not only a visual spectacle but also

Manifestation

Initially, celestial bodies align in a rare configuration. The sun, remnants of the other dimension, and Cairne fall into a precise arrangement, marking the commencement of the Eclipsing Shadows. With the progression of the alignment, shadows across Cairne's landscape dramatically deepen. The sun's rays are partially obstructed by the dimensional remnants, casting elongated shadows that stretch across the terrain. The dimming of light imparts an eerie, subdued glow to the surroundings.   Striking auroras of dimensional energy begin to shimmer in Cairne's darkened sky. These ethereal lights result from the interaction between Cairne's atmosphere and the remnants of the other dimension. The auroras pulse with hues ranging from deep purples and blues to unsettling greens, creating a surreal visual display. Following this, Cairne's horizon appears distorted during the Eclipsing Shadows, creating an illusion of ripples or undulating waves in the fabric of reality. This effect adds to the otherworldly ambiance, suggesting that the very fabric of space and time is temporarily altered on the planet's surface, and as the shadows deepen, a noticeable and sudden drop in temperature occurs. The air becomes colder, carrying a distinct chill that intensifies the sense of foreboding. The atmosphere seems to crackle with latent energy on Cairne's surface.   Mutated creatures, influenced by the heightened void energy during the Eclipsing Shadows, become more active and agitated on Cairne's surface. Unusual behaviors, eerie howls, and distorted vocalizations permeate the air as these creatures respond to the cosmic alignment.

Localization

This is a global occurance that happens once every 180 days precisely, and is likely due to the remaining ambient and free floating elements of the dimansional energy that erupted into Cairne's realm when the Blight was called down.
