Gerldine was a formidable woman who commanded respect and instilled fear in those who worked under her. As the head of The Bechtlarite Intelligence Bureau , she was responsible for overseeing the gathering and dissemination of information throughout the kingdom of Armuun, and the protection of the citizenry from all threats, both internal and from abroad. Her icy demeanor and unwavering dedication to her duties earned her a reputation as a woman not to be trifled with.
It was later discovered that Gerldine had been using her position at the Bureau for her own twisted purposes. She had been manipulating information and using her knowledge of people's secrets to gain power and control over them. Her actions were in direct opposition to the principles of the Bureau, which were to serve the kingdom and its people. On the 23rd of Senectus, in the year 161 PR, she was discovered dead in her office. It appeared that she had taken her own life, but the circumstances surrounding her death were shrouded in mystery. Strangely, her death coincided with the death of one of her biggest rivals, Headmaster Airtam Morenthall. After Gerldine's death, Airtam's journals and private papers began to be disseminated across the capital city of Armuun . The documents revealed the depth of Gerldine's corruption and abuse of her position. While there were rumors that the documents had been altered or were fake, they were gathered and verified under the orders of Sovereign Margaret Effron . The events contained within those documents concerning Gerldine's illicit activities were confirmed, and her reputation was forever tarnished. In the end, Gerldine's legacy was one of corruption and abuse of power. She had used her position of authority to pursue her own twisted ends, and in doing so, she had violated the trust of the people she was supposed to serve.
