Pact of the Deep
The Drowned, it is said, speaks in a thousand voices, muffled by the waters that consumed them. An Artist that is approached by the Drowned would do well to heed the offers made with extreme care, as this is by far the most devious of the secret powers of Cairne, unabashedly using trickery and lies to gain the Artist's servitude to its myriad plots and schemes. The artist is granted dominion over the waters of Cairne, and the ability to manipulate them to create works of flowing art. The waters of Cairne being what they are, infused with the corrosive toxicity of the Blight, this becomes a deadly element to wield. Beyond the surface of this, and the obvious uses, the Artist is granted a further ability to manifest this power in the form of illusions and manifestations that are nearly indistinguishable from reality until it is too late.
In return the powers of the Drowned expect full servitude, claiming the Artist as an agent of their power, and utilizing them as a means to further stretch the length of their reach into the terrestrial world. The Artist, upon completion of their terms, will become a puppet for the machinations of the Drowned, and sent out to not only find other Artists to be claimed, but to pursue other nefarious activities and deeds in the name of the ultimate power behind the the Drowned.
Career
Qualifications
Aside from a talent that the Drowned feels can be utilized to their own ends, this power is the least particular about who they offer and attempt to swindle into their servitude. The prospect of sheer numbers and their inability to deviate from the tasks placed upon the seem to be the only real obvious goals, though there is no doubt plots within plots at play here.
