Saiqa Al-Barq

Thick clouds of choking sands that push across the The Ramaal Jayiea Desert at speeds high enough to strip flesh from bone containing never ending lighting storms and boom and echo across the expanses of the interior desert, these unique weather conditions can be seen for many kilometers racing across the distance. While mostly contained within the deepest reaches, their effects often make their way to the outer regions and wreak significant havok there, disrupting mining operations and in some cases, burying entire small settlements and camps in vast amounts of lightning blasted sands.

Manifestation

These storms remain a constant occurrence in the deep desert, criss crossing across the unexplored expanses of the interior and only visible at a distance. The voluminous clouds can reach several kilometers in height and up to a hundred kilometers wide, though these storm vary a great deal. They are characterized by the reddish-black hue of the sand and the constantly arcing bolts of lighting the generate outwardly from the core of the storm, the reverberations of the thunder able to be heard from several kilometers away which is the best tell tale sign that one in moving towards a specific location.

Localization

These storms are only found in the interior regions of The Ramaal Jayiea Desert , and can on occasion filter further out into the outer edges of the desert as well, though they seem to loose wind speed as they approach the lands beyond. There have been some rare cases where the storms have moved inland some distance, but the drastic decrease in materials available to be picked up as it moved outside the sands of the Ramaal Jayiea leaves these far less damaging that they were, and seldom lasting more than an hour or two.
