The Revenant

Life in the Outlands is a place of extreme trials and tribulations, and the people that settle there do so for a myriad of reasons. The sad truth of the matter is that these settlements often fail, and while in most cases these failures leave no one alive to tell the tale of what became of the people there, on rare occasions an individual will walk away from them. Their stories are unique to the individual, and often harrowing tales of horrors and tragedies leaving the survivor to wander the Outlands a changed individual. Survival for them has become an autonomic response, and act of their body's unyielding demand to persevere and carry on. It is said that these rare individuals are touched by some favor of luck, and able to, as if by some intervention avoid the darkest of dangers with relative ease. While the path of the Revenant is a lonely one, they will on occasion side with groups for reasons known only to them, be it empathy for their plight or so as not to feel responsible for another loss to the Outlands. No matter what their reason, these are some of the hardest people in the Outlands to put down.
