Wax Walker

The Void's touch has affected every aspect of the world in some way, manifesting, mutating, and even reanimating whatever is left in its presence long enough to do whatever the bidding of that power may be. The Wax Walker is no different. When a body left in a damp area and the right climate long enough is allowed to settle undisturbed long enough, the flesh undergoes a strange chimerical reaction causing it the morph into a waxy, oily substance called adipocire. With the Void infecting the majority of the moisture and condensation in these places, the body, too, becomes inundated with that energy, allowing it to animate and move with a strange and deadly grace.

Basic Information

Anatomy

These creatures maintain the form they had in life for the most part, thought the injuries that caused their death may remain visibly present. Their flesh has become an oily, waxy substance that can range from orangish and green to translucent and clear, often with bits of bone and other tissue revealed in gaps and cracks that have formed over time through environmental causes or damage dome by victims. The level of decomposition can vary as well, depending on the environment and carrion.

Ecology and Habitats

The Wax Walker tends to inhabit the place they died and do not wander very far from it. These locations are almost always dark and damp, and devoid of light for the most part. This metamorphosis can occur in unattended graveyards that utilize mausoleums and sepultures, and there has been a large number of them sighted in the outer reaches of Underhome , where very many bodies fell and had to be left where they lay.

Dietary Needs and Habits

The Wax Walker, driven by the Void's urging, will fall upon a slain victim and, over the course of approximately a day, absorb their body into themselves causing the creature to become a bloated mass of adipocire and bone that will remain dormant for up to a week while a new Wax Walker is formed within it, expelling it afterward to wander out and find its own victim.

Behaviour

These creatures seem to be driven by the need to absorb the dead and create more creatures in their own image, likely a result of the Void influence.

Additional Information

Average Intelligence

These creatures show no retained signs of intelligence, cannot communicatee, and have no empathy or remorse.

Perception and Sensory Capabilities

These creatures have very limited sensory perception due to the nature of their physical make up, but seem to have an uncanny ability to sense the living within a short radius of their person. This is a result of the forces that animate them, and fueled by their need to absorb and devour.
