As the news begins to spread out of control, more and more daring souls begin to delve the depths of the lost and forgotten places at the edge of the Blight, raising concerns of the governing bodies of most of the global society. Despite the best efforts of both the direct intervention of some, and the more clandestine approaches of others, the number of those that dub themselves, "Arcanists", continues to climb.

The Blight left behind so many ruins, as the night of the cataclysm hit swiftly anc caught the majority of people unawares. These ruin litter the Wastes and Blighted Lands all along the edge of the Void itself. While the dangers of delving these locations is extreme, the allure of prosperity and even some degree of notoriety was more than many could resist. From wealthy thrill seekers to destitute urchins with nothing to lose, the once desolate Wastes began to bustle with activity. Many lives were lost due to the horrors of the Void, mishaps, and even cultural misunderstandings. The Ventrytes, as open and generally welcoming as they are, began to have concerns with their domain becoming so trafficked, the Elves of Gaul Do Shah claimed many lives as the number of would be fortune hunters increased. Fears of Elven retaliation for continued breaches of their borders by outsiders became more and more justified, as the agitated isolationists began raiding the small camps and even some settlements that sprung up along the borders, built by unwitting arcanists and their teams.   In a rare move, an impromptu and secret moot was called by the Culvarkt and the Bechtlarite intelligence communities. This call went out to all that would hear it, and aside from the Gauldowhynna and the Fouveinians, all established nations sent delegates. The stated location was to be the newly raised Benevolent outpost at the edge of the Wastes known as Olive Branch . Unfortunately for all those in attendance, the moot was raided by a contingent claiming to be The Burnt Crows , and in a heated and extremely violent exchange, all involved were lost including the dissidents. While this did hamper any form of global unity against the growth of the magic boom, it also solidified the need for all nations of the world to stand firm in their stance against arcane practice and relics.
