Caladan Liberation Army

The CLA / Caladan Liberation Army, is an organized militaristic organization who wants to see the planet of Caladan turned into a free democracy. 
The movement started as a working union of free workers after the Duke imposed stricter quotas and locked off independent mining. The only way for people on the planet to make a decent income was cut off. The free miners organized under a banner and forced the Duke to the negotiation table. During these talks there was a large Mine collapse killing 200 independent miners. The Duke did not provide aide in the rescue effort and doubled quotas for the remainder of the workers. With this the negotiation broke down and direct conflict started. 
The movement is responsible for several public bombings including one that targeted a squad of defense soldiers killing all 15 but also killing 100 citizens in the blast. 
The majority of former non violent workers have broke off and do not support the current CLA. People in the capital have a strong resentment for the current movement and opt to support the new group CWU / Caladan Workers Union. This new group also include indentured workers alongside free workers. 
The wife and daughter of the Duke do peacekeeping aide to areas hit with attacks, as well as organize aide groups following major storms. Surprisingly all of these have never themselves been the subject to attacks.
