Madoc
The giant Madoc is the largest of the five sons and two daughters of the Berriedale clan. Fed on hinds milk as a child Madoc is said to be the strongest and tallest man in all of Albion. He stands seven feet tall with hands like shovels. Bald and with a long beard of curly red hair Madoc is a sight to behold. He goes everywhere on foot as no pony can bear his weight. For arms he carries a double edged axe. What he lacks in wit he makes up for in braun. Essentially bullying the surrounding clans into providing provisions for his household, no one dares stand up to Madoc, only his sister's hold any sway over him. His brothers too are all haughty men although Madoc holds lords over them being the most fierceom and powerful of their number.
Madoc rules over the brochs of Berriedale, lording it over his siblings with a tyrannical strong hand. The surrounding lands of the lugi and the dunbeath brochs are often raided and subject to his extortion and whimsical demands.
Madocs long suffering subordinates would make a worthy addition to the forces gathered to resist Rome. For they are all giants like Madoc. With this in mind Talorc seeks to hold council with Madoc sending Galan to parly. Galan reports that Madoc has no intention of joining the resistance or sending men to join. When Talorc marches through berriedale lands Madoc demands tribute from Talorc for crossing the ord. Talorc refuses to give tribute resulting in a dual being fought between Madoc and Talorc. A fierce battle ensued where Madoc get the better of Talorc only for Talorc to drive a dirk under Madocs chin. With this the Berriedale tribe are left leaderless but relived to be rid of Madocs tyranny. An Aonach is held where Madocs sister is proclaimed leader. She makes a pact with the tribes of dunbeath to end the extortion set upon them and to send the brothers of Madoc and their men to join Talorcs war band on their journey south
