Daemavon
God of justice and retribution
There is a statue of Daemavon, the God of justice and retribution, at the main temple to Daemavon in Maenralis. It is cast out of finest Aeryneirian steel and fire-gilded. The God is depicted with their mighty warhammer in their right hand and the scroll of Belagron, in which all the past deeds of mortals are listed, in their left. Their face shows a stern and appraising expression and pilgrims visiting the temple feel uneasily compelled to recall their past wrongdoings in the presence of the God. But Daemavon is just, not spiteful. They know that the mortals have the potential of doing great and compassionate things but are also capable of commiting heinous crimes and atrocious deeds. So pilgrims are likewise able to face the countenance of Daemavon with a pure heart and continue to live in Their name and in the faith that they have to decide on their actions themselves.
As a God of considerable power, Daemavon is thus worshipped by many Paladins, knights and martially inclined clerics, who want to see justice (not neccessarily the law) enforced and retribution taken against the miscreants.
