Equeivëso

"I have only ever set eyes on the mystical elven city of Equeivëso once but I will never in my life forget the sight of it. It is hard to distinguish where the natural forest ends and the elven civilization begins.

There are impossibly sleek towered constructs, seemingly made out of liquid moonlight, attached to massive tree trunks and delicate walkways are stretched among the canopy. Enchanted lanterns float above ivory-coloured paths and throw shadows that trick the eye. Crossing the White Crane Bridge over the Lathlearin river, you would enter Dancing Sisters Square, where the air is filled with soft music and the sound of trickling water alike. You would find elves sitting around Stag's Fountain and watch the otherworldly movements of a Waterweaver. Further on you might watch an elven couple beneath a baldachin spinning impossibly fine silver thread. And close by you would find a congregation of elves. Their eyes would be closed, their faces and palms upturned to Mother Moon and the smiles on their faces would tell of this communion. Every citizen of this magnificent place, be it man or woman or child, embraces and lives in the moment. The elves seem to live in a collective spirit that strives to maintain a strong connection to their people, their ancestors and nature itself.

This visit has made me question my own human disposition. The human struggle for power and our abrasive nature seems crude and cruel alike next to the considerate and graceful elves. I was forever changed. For the better."
