Session 3: The Missing Children Report
General Summary
Near the fated 2 AM mark Ruineren finds himself in the tavern portion of the inn. The room is empty besides him and the barkeep Timothy Huette. The door to the inn opens and a lithe figure in a dark green cloak walks in. Ruineren meets "The Sparrow". A white haired and copper skinned wood elf who after a seemingly magical and binding handshake chooses to trust Ruineren enough to inform him that she is working a nearby job and could possibly use his assistance. Unwilling to spill more information she tells him to meet her in the same location if he finds himself interested.
As the morning breaks the party minus Bohel are enjoying breakfast, but before Ruineren has a chance to speak to the group of his chance encounter he notices a distraught woman hammering a notice to the local work/help board in the inn. The woman's daughter and two other kids have gone missing. The group seeks out the mother and questions her regarding her missing child. They learn that hooded figure has been skulking around the south west edge of the village. The local game master confirms there has been a shifty figure in the woods, but he never can seem to approach it.
Dutiful tracking leads the party to a shack with a trapdoor that leads into a vertical mine shaft that leads into an underground cave. They manage to stealth past a couple of crocodiles, but come into conflict with three giant wolf spiders. As the group rests after the encounter they discover that this mine has many gemstone nodes throughout it. The gemstones seemed to come in three different colors, and Barry decided to grab a nearby pickax to harvest some. Green and blue gems seemed to break off easy enough, but as he struck the red gemstones he find himself on the receiving end of a painful shock. Undeterred and submitting to the peer pressure of the party Barry strikes the vein a couple more times and falls unconscious.
Bohel missed the majority of this fun as he was working to catch up to the party. He apparently overslept due to a night spent with Samantha Lourdes, their waitress at The Pilgrim's Respite.
