Session 5: Thieves' Gamble Report
General Summary
The party minus Bohel finds their way to the docks for a secret meeting with the Sparrow. She reveals the remainder of her job to the party and they devise roles for all involved.
Belphegor will attempt to draw guards toward the gate, Keegan will be the lookout on the roof, and Ruineren will assist the Sparrow on the infiltration.
Deft hands and daft guards make most of the heist go without a hitch, but when Ruineren finds the evidence they need he turns to find the Sparrow missing. In an attempt to find her he sneaks throughout the manor. Finding a sort of "bail-out" bag in the basement and stealing some noble clothes for him and a children's set for Keegan.
Belphegor's amazing 8 minute long ballad comes to an intermission, but after bothering the guards for some water and emptying their waterskins he returns to it albeit a little off-key now.
Inside the manor, Ruineren hears a brief scuffle followed by a thud up stairs. Trapping a guard in the basement he makes his way upstairs to find an unconscious guard on the floor. Quickly stepping ahead he makes his way to the master bedroom where he sees the Sparrow rifling quietly through drawers. As she finally finds what she was looking for she draws a precious amulet out and drops it in her bag. Ruineren hears a door open down the hall and young boy walks from his room to the servants' rooms. A moment later the boy and the butler begin to wonder back toward the stair case. Ruineren and the Sparrow make it down first and out a nearby window Ruineren prepared when the butler discovers the unconscious guard and begins crying for help.
Belphegor raps up his performance as the guards finally hear the call and come running from their various locations. The party reunited outside of the manor confront the Sparrow for going off the plan, but she mentions that part of her payment was the necklace, and explains that it was the secret to Simon Travish's success. It was an Amulet of Charm. Tempted to try and take the amulet from her, but then conceding to their original agreement, Ruineren hands over the documents for their 400 gold.
The party watches as the Sparrow raises her hood and absconds into the night.
