Captain Ashford Shelly

Captain Ashford Shelly, "The Hellblade", is the leader of the Distant Squall Mercenary Company and captain of the Distant Squall. He is a human man in his 40s with short brown hair, fair skin and a few visible scars that disappear behind clothing. He is a business man first when it comes to his crew and their dealings, making sure they are compensated appropriately for their jobs. Outside of business dealings, he cares deeply for his crew and friends, and enjoys the idea of future tales that will feature him as a significant figure.
In the year 5 DIV, Captain Shelly was contracted by an adventuring party with connections to their common employer, the Whistlemane Family. Alongside this adventuring party which called themselves the Anemones, they tracked down and defeated the pirate Emilio the Fly. After the captain fell, Ashford was given rights to his ship while the Anemones took his in exchange. Alongside the ship, Ashford also was gifted with a portion of the party's loot in the form of an infernally crafted flametongue, for which he took the title "the Hellblade."
