Hill Troll
Hill trolls are a sub-species of troll that reside in fields and hilly terrain. They often lair in caves that have entrances far too small for their form, but their ability to shrink their form assists in them entering and exiting their lair.
Basic Information
Anatomy
Massive humanoid form, thick of limb and very heavy. Hill trolls can change their size larger or smaller at will on top of growing to massive size. They grow a thin coat of hair on much of their bodies, often mistaken for actual hills when still.
Biological Traits
Life expectancy varies dependent on luck, growth, and habitat in addition to normal factors. They stand 13-15' tall on average and weigh several tons.
In addition, they are one of the most susceptible of troll-kind to sunlight.
Additional Information
Average Intelligence
Low. In fact it is unfortunately not uncommon for a hill troll to remain out at night too long and, in its panic to return to the safety of its lair, forget to shrink to fit inside the entrance, turning itself or part of itself to stone in their rush.
Perception and Sensory Capabilities
Hill trolls have an exceptional sense of smell, especially toward precious metals such as gold. They also have superior darkvision and are resistant to most magic and physical damage.
The few magical abilities that hill trolls possess allow it to enlarge and reduce its size at will and turn invisible once a day.
Civilization and Culture
Interspecies Relations and Assumptions
Bad for the most part. Though it's not impossible for them to attempt to make an effort to be friendly with others, most of them are greedy and that aspect sours relationships quickly.
Origin/Ancestry
Faerie
Average Height
9'-15'
Average Physique
Large, overweight. Hill trolls are gluttonous and unclean eating practically anything that it comes across and storing the rest for later until it likely rots when the troll forgets about it. Despite their increased sense of smell, they don't seem bothered by the smell of rotten food.
Body Tint, Colouring and Marking
They grow a coat of hair on their body in the color of their surroundings (often green, changing to brown and white as the seasons change)
