The Veil
The Veil is a place between planes. It is inhabited by spirits and other creatures of ethereal nature. It is often used as a method of travel between the closest planes to the Material World like Faerie, the Withering, and Mandos. It is also known to be used by otherworldly beings to pass into the Material. Spirits of the world (rather than those of the deceased) sometimes make their homes there, carving out domains within the shifting mists that make up the Veil. Common belief is that during the last month of the year on Glan’Amar the Veil thins, allowing creatures from the bordering planes to pass over or more easily contact those on the Material, or vise versa.
The Veil can also be inhabited by creatures of other planes, especially those of Faerie and the Withering. Psychopomps and other extra-planar creatures who collect the dead use this realm most often for when a mortal dies, their spirit passes into the Veil to await resurrection or collection. Those spirits who refuse to follow a psychopomp to the afterlife remain here where most become shadows or maddened spirits over time and gain the ability to traverse back into the Mortal Realm.

Geography
The Veil is a realm of deep mist and fog that surrounds the Mortal Plane and its bordering planes such as Faerie and the Withering. It has no natural geography outside of what a traveler there may see of the plane they are bordering. As such there is also no gravity or solid ground.
