Valistria

A heavily matriarchal nation boasting great scholars and warriors and ruled by the demigoddess Valistra Forray, daughter Larras, the Valistrian god of storms. Women make up most of Valistria's ruling class, acting as governors, warriors, and generals, and land-owners while men make up most of the non-leadership roles, and until a few decades ago were barred from military service entirely.

The leader of Valistria, for whom the nation was renamed, has made public her stance to reduce the focus on war and bloodshed in favor of philosophy, sciences, and the arts. She has also made gradual pushes toward equality among the people. This has had limited effect, some believing these changes run the risk of allowing history to repeat itself, but has allowed for the nation to build great libraries and schools, open even to foreign scholars. This has led to multiple adoptions of foreign technology for use in science and - of course - war. The greatest of these are new alchemically-powered, arcanely infused, mechanical constructs used to assist martial warriors, a form of technology believed to have been modified from what Yotenar of the Aestaran Empire claims are stolen designs.
