Sterne Vorontsov (Stern Wo-ron-soff)
Sterne Vorontsov is the Dragonlord of the eastern chapter of Cambrium. He has been in power for several centuries, succeeding from his father, Avgustin Vorontsov, after murdering him. After taking power Sterne then set about slaughtering or driving out dragons from his homeland, Svosinsk, before settling in Castle Vorontsov as his seat of power. The only draconian creatures remaining in Svosinsk are the lizardfolk who make up the majority of the Dragonlord's army and the kobold attendants at the castle.
Sterne is an enigmatic and mysterious individual. He is known as The Iron Drake due to his steely demeanour and being extremely adherent to rules. He rules the eastern chapter as a fair but strict Dragonlord, rewarding those who obey and severely punishing those who step out of line, disregard his laws, or attempt to usurp him. He follows a strict code of honour and believes that obeying laws is what makes a society thrive. To that end, while many consider him evil, he will not break his own laws or code of honour even against an enemy.
As with Svosinsk's speciality in metallurgy and precious gems, Sterne is known for being an exceptional architect. He created his own branch of magic which weaves into building materials in order to build extremely resistant foundations, as well as being able to survive in areas that were previously deemed uninhabitable (tundra, deserts, volcanoes, etc). His expertise in crafting is very sought after, as this branch of magic can also be used to enchant weaponry and armour. The only known user of such magic is Sterne himself as he refuses to share his knowledge with anyone. It is, as expected, extremely expensive so only the most wealthy in Cambrium are able to afford his services.
