Magical Food

Magical Long Rest Meals

During a long rest, you can use your time to prepare and serve a meal that helps you and your allies recover from the rigors of adventuring, provided you have at least ‘Normal’ magical meat, cook’s utensils, and other supplies on hand. This meal can serve up to six people. Depending on whether or not you have proficiency in cook’s utensils, you can choose between Elaborate Meal or a Quick Bite.

Elaborate Meal

If you have proficiency in cook’s utensils, you can choose to spend your Long Rest preparing elaborate dishes. To do so you must select a dish that you will attempt to create then roll a cook’s utensils check (D20 + Cook’s Utensils with Wisdom query attribute). On a success creatures that eat the meal gain the listed benefit else the meal provides no meaningful bonuses.
Meals that you are able to create are listed below:
DC - Food
DC 7Soup
All creatures that partake in the soup gain 1 additional Hit Dice at the end of the long rest.
DC 10 - Stew
All creatures that partake in the stew recover 1 level of exhaustion (This is on top of the level of exhaustion that can be recovered through the long rest itself).
Dc 13 - Meal
All creatures that partake in the meal gain 1d8 temporary hit points.
DC 15 - Roast
All creatures that partake in the roast are cured of 1 natural disease or poison affecting them. As well, the creatures gain advantage on Constitution saving throws against natural poison and disease for the next 24 hours.
DC 19 - Buffet
All creatures that partake in the buffet gain a well fed die, which is a d8. The creature can add that die to either the attack or damage from a weapon or spell attack, expending the die. This effect lasts for 24 hours.
DC 21 - Feast
Carries the properties of two previous dishes.
DC 25 - Banquet
Carries the properties of three previous dishes, other than Feast.

Quick Bite

Just because you lack a proficiency in cook’s utensils doesn’t mean you can’t whip up a nice meal. Even those who have cook’s utensils prefer this method to put together a quick snack during a Short Rest. To do so, roll a D20 + your wisdom bonus + your proficiency modifier (if proficient) or a D20 + your wisdom modifier (if unproficient). You can make a Quick Bite once before you must complete a long rest.
D20 Result
1-3 Charred - This meal will provide you no bonus.
4-12 Full Stomach - You will not require food for the next 8 hours.
13-19 Delicious! - You regain an amount of HP equal to 1+ the creature’s Challenge Rating.
20+ Exquisite Bite - As delicious but you also gain advantage to Constitution saving throws to ward off natural poison and disease for the next 8 hours.
