The Rooster's Pot

The Rooster’s Pot is a dilapidated tavern in the broken hills. It is ‘owned’ by the ghosts of Deama and Erim Smartmantle. They died during a robbery many years ago but have never stopped serving their patrons. While they simply do not have the means or proficiency to fix up or maintain the Inn, they are capable of serving their guests lovely food. Deama greets every patron with a pretty smile, while Erim is more of a ‘mug of ale on the house’ type of guy. They love to entertain guests at their establishment and are always in the mood for a good joke or story.
Their chef’s name is Derek. He smells terrible, but cooks a mean steak. Deama will occasionally make an offhand remark on how he had simply forgotten how to cook when he passed on, but they managed to relearn him that skill. Did we mention that Derek is a ghast?

Purpose / Function

The tavern currently provides shelter and a warm meal to weary travelers who pass through the northern side of the hills surrounding the volcano. There is the occasional chance to find entertainment as well, as the Rooster's Pot is a hub for competitions and festivities. It is often bustling with (un)life.

Alterations

While guests could once stay in this two-story inn, the second floor has partially collapsed into the first floor, leaving the upper areas unserviceable.

Rooster's Pot Menu

The Chef’s Special is Stewed Pheasant with Asparagus and Beets. On the side you get a serving of Pumpernickel bread and a cold glass of milk to wash it down.


Monday special
Salted beef with peas and a cherry sauce. You get some crispy bread on the side.
Tuesday special
Seared pork with white beans and a side of sesame bread.
Wednesday special
Pickled goose with broccoli and squash.
Thursday special
Stewed clams with lentils and strawberries for dessert.
Friday special
Stewed Mutton with yellow onions.
Weekend special
Seared Cod with diced turnips and lemongrass.


Breakfast special
Thin porridge with sweet sausage and mushrooms, with a side of pretzel bread, pears and red wine.


Drinks
Brown ale, Red ale, Wine, Wheat Ale and Porter.


Special Cocktails
Pixiewine. Each glass of this crisp, floral-scented wine is served with a pixie.
Fireball. Hand-crafted by wizards of 5th level or higher.
Suckerpunch. Each glass of this potent purple-red punch has several small writhing tentacles that reach out of the glass to attach to your face with their suckers. It actually feels kind of nice.
Bring-Your-Own-Horn. Bring the horn of your favorite beast or monstrous humanoid (any size!), and we'll fill it with cheap ale or wine for 2 cp.
Stonebones. A powerful rum cocktail made with powder gorgon horn and basilisk eye. It's only partial paralysis.
Peanut's Polymorphic Pint. A pint for a small creature, but more like a shot glass for everyone else. It gives you a tingly feeling on the outside.
