Varris Nightbreeze
Summary
The Nightbreeze family has long been hated among the Kartan Empire for being opposed to the crusades against the Apolima people. As a result of this, the Nightbreeze family has been plagued with many unusual deaths. At the age of 15 Varris and his family moved to a frontier village on the edge of the Kartan Empires' expansion. Within a year’s time, the village was discovered and destroyed by the lizardfolk. In hiding, he watched as his mother and father were slaughtered by the reptiles. Not long after the lizardfolk found and chased Varris into the jungle deep. There he was saved by a wood elf ranger named Naomi and brought to the wood elf camp. Varris was taught to live and survive in the jungle by the elves and was introduced to the goddess Mielikki. Naomi taught Varris everything she knew from wielding his quarterstaff from the ways of the jungle. 3 years passed living with the elves, every month or so the tribe would move and Varris would follow his new family. When setting up camp a rouge group of raiders from the Empire ambushed the elves and once again everyone around Varris was slaughtered. Varris once again ran to the safety of the jungle, he prayed to the gods for safety. He prayed to Torm, but his pleas fell on deaf ears for running, but in desperation, a prayer to Mielikki was answered. While running from the raider Varris heard the forest move and creak. The raiders let out bloodied screams and when he looked back all that was there was a quarterstaff sticking out of the ground and a necklace bound with grass with a wooden holy symbol of Mielikki. From there Varris drifted using what he was taught to live off the land and going into town ever so often.Half-Elf Nature Domain Cleric
