The capital of Thorgea
While the Telu have become a diplomatic and civilized folk over the last 600 years, most of the inhabitants remain dwarvish. A little more than half in fact. Balanceblood and other elvish species have begun to settle in Telum as well, due to the high demand of elvish craftsmen. Most of the workforce in Telum is structured around manufactoring, research and development as well as gathering/mining.
Telum, and by extend the entire coutnry is run by a thirteen headed council. These councilmembers are voted for by the public biennially. While they only scarsly touch the core rights and rules of Thorgea, they do take special care in distributing wealth among public projects and science in general.
Telum is a global leader in the arms race and trades mostly with new weaponry and armor. Items sold include swords, axes, various throwing weapons, bows and arrows, or even, as of new, guns. It comes as no surprise then, that almost 60% of Telums inhabitants work either in mines, as blacksmiths, Magicsmiths, scientists, assemblers or in sales.
There are for once, the Deepslate Syndicate which oversee almost all of the mining and ressource gathering operations. They stand in direct contact with the Steelclad Guild, which runs the production and distribution of weaponry and firearms to the merchants. These sellers often work under the Battleforger Merchants Guild which acts as a sort of union and offers their merchants a steady item supply. There are some minor guilds which are needed to keep the system running, though you mostly only hear about the ongoings of these three in terms of trade.
Telum at its earliest stage was a kingdom like many others, ruled by a royal king and supplying, not a great amount, but enough minerals to the other kingdoms to stay somewhat relevant. Once year 800 came around, the
Dryskhell Family established itself in the midst of Telum and took control over the
Deepslate Syndicate. On the side, they harvested the before useless thought
Lumicite, refined it and sold it to nobles on the black market for a hefty sum. The Dryskhell became so rich in fact that they took over the kingdom, first in silence, then officially after marrying into the royal family. Once on the throne, they shaped Telum and the entirety of
Thorgea to be a dictatorial queendom. Telum transformed into a high security military base that did extensive battle research for the wars the Dryskhell waged all over the continent. As a result, Telum became the hotspot for cutting edge war technology. Once the year 1104 AAP arrived and the Dryskhell family was assassinated during the
Thorgean Liberation, Telum kept its armsdealing reputation and became the global market it is today.

Fitting to its purpose and history, Telums archtiecture looks solid, harsh, cold and overall uninviting. The smell of coal coupled with the cold stone bricks some other may call houses make for a most unpleasent feel. Though for those digging deeper, inside the noble districts and the major guilds headquarters exist newer almost magical looking pieces of dwarven architecture. Grand hallways, glasswork, ornamentation and dwarven murals are just the tip of the iceberg of what can be explored here.
Especially the workshops and magicsmith workplaces have benefitted from the tyrannies end. Considerable funds have been put into a great work environment and the crafters have all the ressources they'd ever want.
Telum is a mining city at heart. Tons of Coal, Iron or Gold is excavated daily here. It is also a
Lumicite haven, which, with the newest technological discoveries of the
Circle of Senses and the
Roxikyen Inventures skyrocketed in demand and price.

Well, when Telum was still ruled under the hat of the queendom, the lumicite earnings were hoarded by the dryskhell. now, the merchants that sell the lumicite share the profits with the deepslate syndicate, who in turn pay the miners a share. not much, but its better than the borderline slavery that was happening while thorgea was still a queendom.
