Varbon Harge

Demographics

Here in Varbon Harge, the population mostly consists of humans and dwarves. A few Que'lim families also settled here, as well as some Maraa. The inhabitants of this little village are mostly fishers, woodcutters and farmers.

Government

Varbon does not have an absolute ruler, instead the village is run by a handful of volunteers that collect taxes, distribute a few guards and communicate with the overseeing baron. Criminal activities are judged by this circle of volunteers, the "Varbon Elders", as they call themselves.

Defences

The Varbon Elders distribute a small number of volunteers that keep the citizens in check. There are no walls around the city, but there are a couple of watchtowers where the guards cycle through to hold nightwatch. These inhabitants are equipped with regular weaponry like bows, swords and shields.

Industry & Trade

Varbon mostly sustains itself by the trades happening inside it. Its main export is seafood and cheap clothes. The village has a huge lack of iron, steel and other ores. They do not own a mine and thus have to rely on outside help from other settlements for weaponry and other material.

Infrastructure

The village of Varbon is built around the waters. The inhabitants built a central market alongside the sea. Not only is this the main part of the city for trade, it is also the place for fishermen to sail out in the sea and hunt for their daily lives. The rest of the village is full of small houses made of oakwood with hay and sticks as roofs. There are three farmers who each own a big chunk of land, where they keep animals to trade at the market.

Assets

The Village has its central market, where you can buy any essentials for a day to day life, like meat, fish, bread, vegetables, cloth, etc. There are also two general purpose shops, one pub and one inn. A church is also located in the villages center. Here the population of Varbon can pray to either Nev'eya or Pelzevaat.

Architecture

The houses in Varbon are built out of mostly Oakwood and hay. Newer buildings also include small stone pillars for extra support. The residents mostly have asymmetrically shaped fences as windows and old looking doors. The only consistently sturdy parts of the houses are the chimneys, made out of stone.

Geography

Varbon, although not the most breathtaking place of Cathrea, has its own charm to it. There is just something about getting woken up by the light of the sun, the smell of the sea and fresh fish and the hasty steps full of energy from the farmers, fishers and merchants.
