Patlāna

The Patlāna are a carnivorous species, evolved from coatls. Their ancestral tongue is Nahuatl. Because of their deep connection with the sky, Patlānas’ Native Element is Air. Thus their Opposed Element is Earth.
Once a fairly hostile people, who even hunted the other species, the Patlāna have adopted strict rules to keep each other in check. Now they have formed many of the governing bodies of Cé, keeping the peace and administering the law. Members of the other species sometimes decry it as a rebranded way for the Patlāna to retain the authority of their ancestors.
Other factions of the Patlāna are colorful, nomadic peoples. They are particularly fond of music and have intricate dances, which are an especially essential aspect of courtship. Following the winds and the seasons, these Patlāna usually are great artisans and tradespeople, peddling their wares as they traverse the great plains of .

Patlāna have vestigial wings, though they are too small and frail to support weight. Instead of hair, they have feathered scalps.

They have skin in shades of brown. Their feathers can be a variety of colors, ranging from demure whites, blacks, and browns, to brilliant blues, reds, and yellows. Nearly any color of feather can be found among the varied Patlāna people. Their eyes are either yellow or black.
