Monstrous Races of Talingrad

Monstrous Races of Talingrad include:   Boggards: Boggards are found on the western side of the island, near Farholde. They stick primarily to their tribes, and rarely ally well enough to pose a serious threat to Talingradi society. Boggard society is one of supremacy, and a rule by the strong, and as a result infighting is frequent.   Dragons: Dragons in Talingrad are thankfully rare, but they are considered the scourge of all civilization on the island. It is said that the original Jarls of Karlsguard came to the island in search of linnorms to slay, and after cutting through several brood, turned their axes on the Talingradi population themselves. Others have thankfully since been conquered by heroes of the knightly orders of Talingrad, and it is now believed that their populations have dwindled considerably. Of the dragons remaining, Green, Black, Copper, and Silver are the most common colors spotted. The deadliest dragon who's death has not been confirmed is Charmaggedon the Black, and if he is still alive, he is now likely a Wyrm of some power.   Giants: Giants are found typically in the Savage North, although a few holdout populations are said to lurk in isolated territories across the island. Hill giants are most common, as are bands of frost giant warriors. Most have an enmity for Talingrad and attack the Watchwall frequently when roused by chieftains.   Trollkin and Ogrefolk: Trolls and Ogres are considered cousins to the giant race. Similar to them they lurk within the Savage North, but unlike their larger cousins, trolls tend to have their own societies that go beyond a tribal level. The current ice troll king is named Sigarth Iekenhart, and he is said to possess a magical crafting forge filled with rare metals and crafted treasures traded with bugbear tribes in the north.   Undead: Undead in Talingrad are thankfully rare, usually the result of necromancy or the remains of old battlefields from the First or Second "Great War". While they are occasionally found within the south, orders of witchcatchers are quick to put the dead back to rest. Ghouls are the most common type found within Talingrad, but vampires are unfortunately also seenin certain larger population centers. The church of Urgathoa and related necromantic practices are banned since the purges of the Zealot, and any undead found upon the island are usually killed on site. For the most part these creatures or the remnants of elven wars stay out of sight, fearful of the witchcatchers blade and torch, and stick to graveyards, large cities, or the Savage North.   Monstrous PCs: It may be that you have a character concept that involves a monstrous race. This is one of the few campaigns where such a thing may be possible. If this is an avenue you wish to pursue, we will need to find a way to explain why:   1. You were not immediately killed, but were instead punished in a court of law.   2. How you will function as a level one PC.   Most likely this will mean the redesign of a race, or something to that effect, but if it is a road you would like to walk, you are encouraged to work with me to do so.
