The Infinite Green

As the name implies, the infinite green is about a third of the largest continuous jungle in Celasper, extending northwards into the Joto Rainforest, and southwards into the Great River Runway. However, there is more than simply dense tree line within the ancient territory. Within the center of the Infinite Green lies the most storied city in Mana Jalqabaa, the great city of Nantambu. A rich cultural heritage of warriors fighting against demons, magical colleges producing masked warriors, the great deeds of Old Man Jatembe and his Ten Magical Warriors. Cities have risen and fallen within the green under the watchful eyes of Samii Ol Ka'e, and there are stories still to tell.

Geography

Mount Samii Ol Ka'e: Meaning "up in the sky" in the Nantambu tongue, the holy city hosts the ruins of Ulduvai on it's southern slope from a long since dead empire. A group of centaurs known as the Zothians reside upon the mountainside, though it is rumored that a number of powerful albino winged gorillas also occupy the mountain, making travel difficult.   The Great Pyramid of Kitumo: Occupied supposedly by a race of sentient fireflies, the pyramid's builders are unknown. The fireflies who now occupy the structure speak of a great spirit or petty godling sleeping within the tomb at the edge of the Kaasuu Savannah, who they warn may soon wake to a rousing hunger.   The Screaming Jungle: This massive jungle is filled with intense mists that descend from the Gorgonkin Ranges to the east. Active wildlife hunt within the region, and the extremely tall trees make navigation difficult. Powerful psionic energy may exert itself from the jungle itself, as many people dream of the Screaming Jungle without ever visiting it.   Dbede: Somewhere within the screaming Jungle sits a vast mound nearly fifty feet high, jutting from the mist. Upon this mound is perhaps the largest termite colony on Celasper. The termites are strangely aggressive towards those who approach the colony's mound, overwhelming even large creatures with incredible force.   Elokolobha: A number of crocodile fey from the unseelie court occupy the small town of Elokolobha at the edge of the Korir river. Mostly harmless to those who make it to the town, the area surrounding it is filled with hostile traps that deter most explorers.   The Korir River: Descending from Lake Soba and fracturing through the Screaming Jungle is the Korir River, a large river famous for numerous waterfalls and large numbers of crocodiles and hippopotamuses.   Rastel: The Devouring Kingdom was once a prosperous city state boasting diverse populations of humans dwarves and centaurs among its ranks. However, a conflict with hte holy city of Xatramba caused the leaders of Rastel to turn to the demon lord Lamashtu for assistance, calling out to her from within the planar tear. The results were tragic but predictable. The ruins of Rastel still host a number of teiflings born from abyssal heritage, though thankfully the city is mostly purged of its demonic host thanks to the efforts of Nantambu. Mostly.   Osibu: At the heart of the screaming jungle is a massive city built over a mysterious and sinister well that lies at it's center. Dimari-Diji, an ancient treefolk serves as the current leader for the secret paradise, though by it's own admission, it's time in this world is soon ending. Osibu boasts a population of roughly 11,000 inhabitants, and it's golden city is filled with overgrown pyramids, and great trees that seclude it's position in mist from the outside world. The Nemesis Well that the ancient treant guards is not spoken of with outsiders.   The Verdant Falls: Near the peak of the screaming jungle lies a waterfall known as the verdant falls. Here within this grove lie a conclave of druids living among a series of elephants of migrate periodically between here and the Joto Rainforest. Set far away from the Green Walker who resides to the southwest from the Infinite Green, this grove works to study the resiliency of the Screaming Jungle in the hopes of finding a way to allow nature to banish the demonic impurity that threatens Mana Jalqabaa once and for all.   Holy Xatramba: Once the pinnacle of the old world thousands of years ago, Holy Xatramba was a site sacred to gods and the head of a confederacy that spanned the great river runway. A conflict with Rastel changed that destiny, and demons under the great mother Lamashtu destroyed Xatramba, who have long since claimed the city as their own. The location of the city was assumed lost, only rediscovered recently by explorers from Nantambu, though many fear if this was the demon's of Xatramba's intention all along. Orcs from the great river runway now patrol the rivers connecting to the ancient city, and engage in combat against any foul spawn that emerges from it's dwelling.   The Kaava Jungle: Named for strange lemur like creatures with a strict social structure called Kaava, it is rumored that these monkeys are smarter than first glance would indicate, with some supposedly making bargains with pirates from Blood Cove to see the world. In addition to the normal array of animals, rivers, and dense treeland, a spice known as miracleroot can only be harvested within this jungle, possessing excellent herbal properties in addition to it's nutritional value. Umasi, corpse like recluses cursed by unknown horrors live within the Kaava Jungle in small clusters. They are friendly to outsiders, despite their terrifying appearance, and are usually happy to guide people back towards more civilized lands.   Lutonge: An ancient ruin destroyed by the green walker some years prior. In addition to the Umasi who use it now as a home, rumors persist that under the rubble of the temple of water, the Patron Godling of Lutonge still resides, buried within the earth. Snakes and sentient vines are common within the area, preventing any who would attempt to free or rob from the ancient temple.   Ranage's Circle: Located just north of old Lutonge, two great spirits of the Kaava Forest, Ranage and Golokango remain locked in mental combat, with both spirits locked within the stone. The nature of their debate was unclear, but it rages still even to this day, and until their question is decided, the area offers a ward against evil to outsiders, and a safe place to rest within the Kaava Jungle.   Kiedu Ruins: Deep within the Kaava Jungle lay the ruins of Kiedu, the home of the Mbaiki, a group of sentient leopards who if rumors are true, were once men. The Mbaiki still call the ancient village home, and offer divination and prophecy for those who bring gifts and homage to their people.   The Tomb of Xulthas-Ka: Near the western cliff face separating the Joto Rainforest from the Infinite Green is the ancient tomb of a Serpentfolk Sorcerer King from the age of wonder. Supposedly the king's black sarcophagus still remains in the depths of his profane vault, though excavation attempts to reach it from Nantambu scholars are still ongoing.   Akrivel: Home of the ancient Ekujae elven people, and wardstone of the HungerGate. The HungerGate is a magical barrier that holds the Avatar of Lamashtu between worlds and prevents her from solidifying demonic portals around Mana Jalqabaa. The elven outpost to contain the Hungergate has turned into a small community that feels like home to it's many residents. Pilgrims to the temple of Ketephys travel here to pay their respects, though housing for visitors is often improvised, with many sharing communal housing for their travels with denizens of the city proper.   Nurian Falls: A series of tiered waterfalls extending from the Joto Rainforest down the cliffside into the Infinite Green. The largest of these falls is known as the Black Cascades, existing in a box canyon considered beautiful to local residents.   The Pasage: Within the Nurian Falls are a series of hidden tunnel networks moving behind the waterfalls. These tunnels are considered sacred to the Cult of the White Ape and may connect to the fane of their founder's avatar.   Nantambu: The beautiful river city of Nantambu is considered the heart of the Infinite Green, and as some contend, the heart of Mana Jalqabaa itself. The Song Wind City is one of the oldest cities in the world, with a history and a magical academy going back all the way to the days of Old Man Jatembe and the ten warriors. The Magical College of Magaambya sits at the center of a series of wheeled island districts atop the Dhiiga river. It is a cosmopolitan city boasting a diverse culture, a democratic society and plentiful resources. Its central access to the river runway and to nearby Elvish and Orcish societies make its people prosperous, and currently close to 20,000 people call the city home.

Climate

Weather is usually warm in the Infinite Green, with frequent rainstorms descending from the Gorgonkin Ranges.
