Aetherius Militarius
The Aetherius Militarius is the force that watches over the Four Kingdoms, maintaining order and balance from their keep in the Void-Primus Castra. They were formed after the signing of the Celestial Accords at the end of the Constellar War, and they are manned by chosen individuals from many backgrounds across the Kingdoms-the Inquisitors. The given purpose of their creation is to prevent a event of the scale of the Constellar War from ever happening again, by whatever means necessary.
The Militarius currently contains roughly 250 Inquisitors, selected from promising individuals across the kingdoms. From warriors, to blacksmiths, to researchers, each member is carefully selected and tested by groups of Inquisitors to ensure that they will be ready for the trials ahead. Life in the Void is an uncomfortable experience at the least for anyone unprepared for the total lack of life and energy there, so a good deal of preparation is also required to ensure that no hopeful recruits are harmed by it's stagnant aura.
The Militarius' powers are great, their authority superseding the law of the Kingdom's they oversee, though rarely without consequence if illegal actions are taken without good reason. Few of the Inquisitors use these rights, preferring to make allies in high positions within the Kingdoms to get clearance or assistance to perform the tasks they are currently assigned to. Some are prone to extreme measures, however, and these Inquisitors are rightly feared by the people, and there is little the upper ranks of the Militarius can do until the Inquisitor in question does something truly heinous.
They are a small enough organization that they are headed by a single individual-the Grand Inquisitor-and their three chosen lieutenants-the High Inquisitors, the current Grand Inquisitor being Hadrax "The Bear" Siegbarr, his High Inquisitors being Leyra Stormeye, Alexander Gorn, and Arlin Erdul. These four have been quite popular for the choices they make while leading, proving to be strong against forces of corruption and dealing out "disciplinary measures" where necessary.
