After the first settlers arrived on this untarnished land, communities, villages, towns, cities, and eventually full kingdoms bloomed. During this time, political borders were not yet established. Over this period, local lords would exert their influence on the neighboring settlements and gradually establish larger political entities.

The first settlement on Celestia was founded on the northwestern shores of the continent. The city's location proved to be great launching point for expeditions, trade, and adventuring for those earlier pioneers. Eventually, this once small settlement would serve as the capital for the country of Okeanos.
Unhappy with life under the rule of the council, would be lords and ladies made off with their possessions into the south eastern end of the continent.
The small settlement of Shady Vale is established as a mining town due to the nearby wealth of iron ore. The availability of local lumber also lead to it becoming famous for it's local blacksmiths, forestry, and hunting. Wolves made the farming of livestock difficult, but most crops grew well in the available land.
The Okeanos Union, a government with a democratically elected ruling body, is first established. Their government settles into a structure with a single house, a speaker, and an advocate.
Seeking to expand its influence, Okeanos declares military operations into neighboring feudal territories with many lords overthrown. The most vulnerable lords were those that offered not but cruel taxes and unjust governance. Swayed by the prospect of having a say in their own destinies, many serfs opted to defect from their lords and join the Union.
As a direct response to the Northrock domination of nearby fiefdoms, numerous lords of the southern forest banded together to pledge themselves to the most noble and fair among them: King Wyrmwood the First. Under his benevolent rule, commoners found comfort and safety, lords were offered protection, and the Kingdom flourished, defended itself, and grew.
In response to economic opportunities, several of the local merchant settlements decided that cooperation to leverage full profits of the on-going wars in the land would serve to better aid all who claimed the shore as their home. The Southshore Trading Company offered protection to outposts, access to supply chains, and chances to invest early in the projected exponential growth of the new continent's economy.
The Incursion on Shady Vale
Territorial Claims Formally Announced. After decades of border squabbles, peace treaties were drawn up that outlined the territorial boundaries. Northrock, the first nation and the one with the advantage of a headstart on its economy, naturally took the lion's share of the land on Celestia. A tenuous peace would follow.
After the end of the 20 Year's war, faith in the existing leadership structure faltered and calls rang out to reorganize the legislative body of the nation. In doing so, wild shifts in political power between the haves and have-nots began to emerge.
Sometimes, the best show of military might can be made through peaceful demonstrations of sportsmanship. The Tournament of Glory was originally organized as a way of easing national tensions, demonstrating the martial skills of the three countries, entertaining the masses, and imbuing citizens with national pride. The first of these was a great success with <<FirstName>> <<LastName>> from the Eastwood Kingdom claiming the final prize.
The Church of Golden Lights develops the means to allow instant teleportation between two locations, provided the traveller has attuned to both gates.
