The Windblade

The Windblade is the branch of the Irenic Foundation military that is responsible for external operations, including purges of Infernal races abroad, such as tieflings and kenku, and assaults on Orcish Warbands and Infernal Armies. This branch is made up of highly trained and skilled soldiers, who are capable of adapting to a wide range of situations and environments. Many members of the Windblade are proficient in mounted combat, making use of the Foundation's Pegasus Knights to engage in swift and effective clashes. The Windblade is known for its versatility and ability to adapt to changing circumstances on the battlefield, making it a formidable force against any enemy.   Despite its focus on external operations, the Windblade also works closely with the Shield of Faith, the internal defense branch, to ensure the safety and security of the Foundation's citizens, and is respected throughout the Central Domain for its military prowess.

Leadership

The leader of the Windblade is a half-elf named Inquisitor Ellara GreenLeaf, a skilled bard, tactician and strategist with years of experience in the military. She is known for her calm demeanor and her ability to always keep a level head in the heat of battle. She is relatively young, however has performed miracles in planning conflicts. She is a member of the Transcendents One of the most notable members of the Windblade is Justicar Aric BloodBlade, an elf who rose through the ranks to become a highly respected and feared leader on the battlefield. Known for his clever tactics and fierce loyalty to the Foundation, Bloodblade has earned the respect of his troops and is often called upon to lead crucial missions. He has a long history of success in the Windblade. He is now 600 years, most elves live to around 1000 years old. He is a member of The Children of Thoelirn.

Controversy

Aric BloodBlade had always been a fierce and loyal member of the Windblade, working his way up through the ranks to become one of the most respected and feared leaders on the battlefield. He was known for his clever tactics and his unwavering dedication to the Irenic Foundation, and many believed that he was the natural choice to become the next Inquisitor of the Windblade. However, when the time came to select a new leader for the Windblade, Aric was passed over in favor of Ellara GreenLeaf. Many speculated that the decision was based on Aric's beliefs about Thoelirn, as he was a member of The Children of Thoelirn and believed that the deity was an elf, while Ellara was a member of The Transcendents and believed that Thoelirn was a celestial being beyond mortal understanding.   Despite his disappointment at not being chosen as the new Inquisitor, Aric remained a loyal and dedicated member of the Windblade, continuing to serve the Irenic Foundation with all his might. However, the decision to pass him over in favor of Ellara caused a rift between the two factions, as many members of The Children of Thoelirn saw it as a sign of disrespect and a dismissal of their beliefs.   Despite this, both Aric and Ellara continued to work together to achieve their common goal of promoting the ideals of the Irenic Foundation and bringing about a world of peace. Despite their differences, they both knew that their ultimate loyalty was to the Foundation and its cause.
